The new production line, developed by a team from the ZTZG in Hebei Province, can produce various sizes and shapes of steel tubes without changing molds, making it more efficient and cost-effective.
ZTZG won the ‘Technical Innovation Award of the China Steel Structure Association for the process of the “round-to-square shared roller technique” and said the new production line has several advantages.
Firstly, it greatly reduces the need for molds, which are expensive and require frequent maintenance.
Secondly, it increases production efficiency, as the molds can be quickly and easily changed for different tube sizes, reducing production time.
Finally, it reduces production costs, as the use of molds is reduced and the need for skilled workers is reduced.
The new production line has been tested and proven successful in producing seam steel tubes of various sizes and shapes, including those for the oil and gas industry, the team said.
They hope that the new production line will help to improve the competitiveness of the steel industry and contribute to the country's efforts to promote sustainable development.
