    Raw materials:
    Hot-rolled or cold-rolled steel strip.
    Core process:
    Utilizing the “skin effect” and “proximity effect” of high-frequency current, the edges of the pipe blank are instantly heated to a molten state, and pressure welding is achieved under the action of extrusion rollers.
    Applications:
    Widely used in urban gas pipeline networks, gathering and transmission pipelines, and structural pipes. In recent years, thick-walled, high-strength ERW pipe technology has also been continuously developing.
    Compared to ordinary pipe-making machines, API welded pipe production lines include the following additional processes:
    Non-destructive testing (NDT): Standard configuration includes ultrasonic testing (UT) and eddy current testing (ET). High-end products utilize automated ultrasonic testing (AUT) and real-time X-ray imaging, achieving a defect detection rate of over 99.9%.
    Hydrostatic testing: Every steel pipe must undergo a hydrostatic test, a mandatory requirement of API standards that cannot be replaced by NDT.
    Weld treatment: Internal burrs must be removed until flush with the base material (remaining height not exceeding 0.5mm). External welds must have a smooth transition to prevent cracking of the anti-corrosion layer.
