Cold Roll Forming

Cold Roll Forming (Cold Roll Forming) is a shaping process that continuously rolls steel coils through sequentially configured multi-pass forming rolls to produce profiles of specific shapes.

(1) The rough forming section adopts a combination of shared rolls and replacement rolls. When the product specification is changed, the rolls of some stands do not need to be replaced, which can save some roll reserves.
(2) Combined roll sheets for flat rolls, the rough forming section is six stands, the vertical roll group is arranged obliquely, the volume of the turning rolls is small, and the weight of the rolls of the traditional roll forming machine is reduced by more than 1/3, and the equipment structure is more compact.
(3) The roll shape curve is simple, easy to manufacture and repair, and the roll reuse rate is high.
(4) The forming is stable, the rolling mill has strong applicability to forming thin-walled tubes and rear-walled tubes, and the product specifications range is wide.

Cold roll forming is a material-saving, energy-saving and efficient new process and new technology for sheet metal forming. Using this process, not only can produce high-quality section steel products, but also can shorten the product development cycle, improve production efficiency, and thus improve the market competitiveness of enterprises.
Over the past half century, cold roll forming has evolved to be the most efficient sheet metal forming technique. 35%~45% of the strip steel rolled in North America is processed into products by cold bending, which is more than the steel used in the automobile industry.

In recent years, cold-formed steel products have been widely used as important structural parts in many fields such as construction, automobile manufacturing, shipbuilding, electronics industry and machinery manufacturing. Its products range from ordinary guide rails, doors and windows and other structural parts to some special profiles manufactured for special purposes, with a wide range of types. The section performance per unit weight of cold-formed steel is better than that of hot-rolled steel products, and it has high surface finish and dimensional accuracy. Therefore, replacing hot-rolled steel with cold-formed steel can achieve the dual effects of saving steel and energy, so people are interested in cold-formed steel. The development of bent steel has been given great attention. It is the constant desire of users for the variety, specification and quality of cold-formed steel products that promotes the rapid development of cold-formed forming technology.
